Senior Pastor

 

 

Shawn R. Mason II is a father, servant, thinker and visionary leader.  A Brooklyn native, he serves as the proud Senior Pastor of The Freedom Church which officially launched in September 2017. He was reared from birth in the Historic St. Mark Holy Church under the leadership of the late Bishop Nathaniel Townsley, Jr. serving in several ministry capacities.  Preaching his first sermon at nine years old; it was evident that the hand of the Lord was on his life.  It was there that he was licensed to preached and ordained to the presbytery.  Presently, he serves as a Bishop and General Secretary within the St. Mark Churches under Bishop Dolores Smalls, Presider..   

 

Bishop Mason studied at the University at Albany, where he pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in History.  He also received a Bachelor’s in Theology from Dominion Theological Seminary.  Most recently, he completed the Master of Divinity program at North Carolina Theological Seminary. 

 

A much sought-after lecturer and episcopal protocol consultant, he is the visionary and lead facilitator of the "Empowering Servants Symposium" an in-depth and informative series of workshops for those in the ministry of helps. For more than 20 years, Shawn has had the privilege of serving in the adjutancy.  For over a decade he has served Adjutant General for a multitude Episcopal Consecrations and Ordinations and is currently working on his own manual for ministers of protocol.  As a believer in ecumenicalism, he serves as Bishop of Protocol for the Covenant Keepers International Alliance (Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Presiding Bishop).  In addition to this position, he is blessed to serve the Joint College of African American Pentecostal Bishops as the Adjutant General.
