The 21 Days of Consecration is comprised of a set of spiritual disciplines with the intent to help us grow in our relationship with God and become better in body, mind, soul and spirit. It includes what is called a "partial fast", daily prayer, and our devotional reading. The term "Partial Fast" means that we will eliminate some common things from our daily diet, but will have alternatives available.   We believe as we fast we become more conscious of what we are putting into our bodies, as well as increase our ability to deny our flesh. As we deny our flesh, our spirit will become stronger! Add in our daily prayer during the suggested times and devotional reading, and expect to see growth! We even encourage the incorporation of physical exercise will help move many of us closer to general good health and fitness.

This time of consecration will strengthen our relationship with God and with each other as a church family! We can all look forward to seeing what God does in our church and anticipate experiencing Him in a new way during this awesome time!

Accountability is one of the pillars of @freedomchurchbk.  You will probably be most successful with this fast if you make yourself accountable to at least one other person during this fast.  Take the time to encourage one another.  If someone falls and eats the wrong foods, or completely falls off the wagon don't condemn them.  Help them start again.  We are taught to walk in love and mercy.  WE CAN DO THIS!!!

HERE ARE SOME POINTERS THAT WILL ALSO HELP:

Fasting allows you to improve your communication with God through prayer and as your communication improves your relationship with God becomes stronger.  Having a strong prayer life helps us to communicate with God more effectively.  It is vital to increase your prayer time during a fast.

PRAY AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE, PRAY AS OFTEN AS NEEDED.

We are not only praying to ASK OF GOD, but we are praying to HEAR FROM GOD.

It may also help you if you set aside certain times of the day for prayer and journaling.

  • Take time to be quiet before the Lord and listen to the voice of the Spirit.

  • Record in your journal what the Holy Spirit is revealing to you.

  • Write down prayer requests.

  • Write down revelation and insights given to you during the fast.

  • Write down your praise reports.

  • Write down any dreams and pray for the interpretation of them.
